Strong to the finish

Here's the latest on Madeleine:

She threw up once Sunday evening and once Monday late afternoon, at which point I called the doctor and scheduled an 8:30am appointment for this morning. When she woke up today she had diarrhea too. After being examined by the nurse, the PA, and her pediatrician, it was decided that Madeleine's body is taking 10 times as long to process this bug as my adult body did, meaning she may have diarrhea for the rest of the week but hopefully that should be the end of it. She didn't throw up today and ate quite a bit of toast and banana, along with some of our normal dinner and lots of water. Her liver count was high enough, according to the ER blood work, that the pediatrician was going to ask around about it's relationship to the virus. If she thinks we need to have blood drawn again in two weeks she'll call us.

So we had an early morning with the dr.'s appointment which was followed by a furniture mix-up where the store we've ordered a bunch of furniture from forgot to grab the hutch we bought. So they set up part of our order and will bring the hutch tomorrow morning. Then Justin called to say the Jeep died on his way to the DMV. We had to have it towed and have the alternator replaced then pick the Jeep up by 5pm. In the meantime I had to get the kids ready to pick up Justin, run to the grocery store to pick up some more bread and gatorade for Madeleine, and make it to the shop to pick up the Jeep so I could make it to my 5:15 hair appointment that I had already rescheduled once because of Madeleine being sick this past Saturday (a long but informative sentence, I know). I did get an hour of kid-free bliss before heading home to a house of chaos where Parker now refuses to fall asleep without an hour and a half of fussiness and Madeleine freaks out if the Elmo's World theme music isn't playing on the TV. But now the kids are finally asleep and I'm going to take a bath. I'm so glad there are only a few more days in February; I can't wait for March!

You are amazing! I am so glad that you were able to get away today and get pampered. You deserve it for sure.

I hope Madeleine continues to feel better.

So exciting that you have almost all of your furniture! I can't wait to see it.

Please let me know if I can do anything.
